Description

A collection of Pinups in Animation over the decades. I kinda did this to show how "they don't make 'em like that anymore!"

So to summarise:

1930s - The debut of Max Fleischer's Betty Boop. One of the most loved pinup queens of all time and still is. A lot of her cartoons are pretty dated but her style isn't one of them. As she says in Who Framed Roger Rabbit - "But I still got it Eddie! Boop boop bi-doop!" She sure does.

1940s - Red Hot Riding Hood is from the legendary Tex Avery and his cartoon short of the same name. It's a retelling of Red Riding Hood where the big bad wolf is a womanising badass and Red is a super sexy club singer. It doesn't get shown on Cartoon Network these days but check it out on YouTube. Fun fact - this cartoon was paid tribute to in The Mask and also with our next entry.

1980s - It took 40 years before any other noteworthy animated cuties came around but it was worth the wait. Jessica Rabbit is pure illustrated sex. Her iconic debut was amazing and Kathleen Turner's voicing was inspired. She's also one of the reasons I wanted to draw pretty girls for a living.

1990s - Kudos to Steven Spielberg for bringing naughty animation kicking and screaming back to the screens. Animaniacs was one of my favourite cartoons of all time. Still is. But mostly I loved it for this lady. Hello Nurse for a long time epitomised everything that is sexy to me. Fun fact - Hello Nurse's name comes from Vaudeville theatre where the "Hellooo NURSE!" phrase was mentioned whenever a sexy female character came onto the stage. It is also where the wolf-whistle comes from.

Finally, 2000s - In an age of political correctness and censorship, the naughties were a dry patch for animated filth. But judging from the amount of X-Rated fanart on here, Frankie Foster from Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends seems to be the alternative pinup queen for this generation. I suppose after all the subtle-as-a-sledgehammer sirens of previous years, a bit of shy girl-next-door is what tickles the fancy these days.

On a side note, the conspiracy theorist in me is wondering why most of the sexiest characters are redheads.

As for my favourite? Well I'll leave you with this nugget:

"HellooooooOOOOOOOoooooooo, NURSE!!!!"
